The history of hcg diet

Hcg (human chorionic gonadotrophin) is a gonadotrophin hormone produced by pregnant women which was first discovered in 1927. This hormone ensures that the fetus gets enough amounts of calories & nutrients, almost independent of the mother’s daily calories intake, to help him develop perfectly during the early stages of pregnancy. While treating some boys with under-developed gonads using the HCG during the 1930s, DR A.T.W Simeon noted that these boys lost some excess weight while eating less and with no accompanying hunger pang. This intrigued
him and shifted his discovery to creating a potential diet plan and after 20 years of research he developed a diet regimen for using the hcg drugs to help people lose weight and he also published a paper explaining its effects.

How does it work?

Within the human body there a re three types of fats, the structural fat which is found between the organs and the skin, the normal reserve fats which help supply the body with energy when your calories intake is low and the unused abnormal fats which is found in the waist, hips, buttocks and thighs among other places. This hormone signals the hypothalamus to help mobilize the stored fats and initiate fat metabolism.

The hcg diet plan

This diet plan is divided into three phases: The 1st phase begins with you eating as much as you can for the first two days as you start the HCG drops treatment. After this you begin phase 2 which lasts for between 23-40 days. A 500 calories diet consisting of 2 meals of 3-5oz of protein, fruits, vegetables are consumed during the second stage while still taking the hcg. The final stage is also referred to as the maintenance stage and also introduction of a new means of living and lasts for two days but minus the hcg.

The initial phase has been designed to introduce the HCG into your system before you begin following the regiment. This informs the brain that the release of fats has began, and eating as much calories as you want signals the hcg showing it what process should be addressed. This will initiate the 2 or 3 pounds weight loss experienced during the second phase. The 3rd phase is meant to allow the hcg enough time to leave the body.
